XX GIRLS SDCC 2012 HIGHLIGHTS

XX BLOCKING THE COMIC CON INTERNATIONAL SIGN

 SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2012

Paris, Jessica, Angelica, and Amie have returned from geek paradise and have graciously decided to share and highlight their adventures from San Diego Comic Con:
WHERE CELEBRITIES AND GEEKS COLLIDE.

PARIS:

SDCC was so much fun! I got to meet Nathan Fillion and camped out for the Dr. Who, Supernatural, and Fringe panel (which I got to sit second row!). XX got to do their first group cosplay of skullgirls! Which we got to meet Alex Ahad and it was SO AMAZING! He drew us all personal character sketches as well! Overall it was insane and I had a freaking blast!!!

JESSICA:

San Diego Comic Con will always hold a dear place in my heart. It is what truly started all of this you see here from me!

This year it was yet again nothing short of a fantastic amazing flurry of amazingness. The crowds were bigger and more aggressive, the loot was greater and more rare and the girls were gorgeous and more ...naked! http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/images/blank.gif

This year I wore 3 brand new costumes, Rena from Elsword, Valentine from Skullgirls and Harley Quinn from the new Injustice game coming out from NetherRealm and Warner Bros.
Everyone was so receptive, and I had an amazing time with everyone! All my wonderful friends had the joy of going to SDCC for their first time and I think their minds were pretty much blown!
I met Jhonen Vaquez, who i am secretly in love with but we won't say anything to anyone about that... SHH. Also Matt, Karen, and Arthur also known as The Doctor, Rory, and Amy Pond from Doctor Who! I also met Elijah Wood, and Nathan Fillion. I shook Nathan’s hand and told him I loved what he does and he told me I had good taste. haha.

This San Diego Comic Con was by far the greatest yet and I cannot wait to go back next year!

Angelica:

As I lay in bed, drinking a beer, and recovering from my SDCC hangover I can’t help but have this durpy stupid smile on my face. This was my first SDCC and it will not be my last. The whole weekend was a blur, an amazing, eventful, unforgettable blur. This convention is one of my favorites because it’s not work. I feel that even the celebrities attending are there as fans and to have fun. The best part about the convention is that no matter where you go, you’re in good company. I would hang out at McFadden’s to take a bit of a rest and drink (before the place turned into a huge party) and even when resting I enjoyed myself. Being able to make a reference to a comic book, video game, or movie and actually have people all around you who get it, was comforting. I felt like I was home. Thank you all who took the time to rant and talk nerd, you made my weekend.

Amie:
It is now July 17th, and just two days ago I was chilling in San Diego eating at Sultan Shawarma’s with my fellow geekmates feeling how the Avengers did after their triumph over alien beings. Tired. SO TIRED!! But hey, if there was any SDCC attendee going home without symptoms leading to extreme exhaustion, then they aren’t doing it right!!

This was my first year experiencing the delightful madness that is San Diego Comic Con. And although I was too engulfed in the Exhibitor’s hall to experience the panels (I was so mad at myself for missing the LEGEND OF KORRA and DOCTOR WHO panels), I can still surely say my time was well spent. Our Skullgirls group was a smashing hit and my Mei Ling costume definitely paid off for reasons I can explain further below. ;)

I feel like I met so many fans and followers and it made me feel super appreciated for all the hard work that gets put into XX and our costumes. Thanks guys!! <3 I also met the cast of Doctor Who!! They were incredibly sweet and took some photos and began singing “Raindrops are Falling on Our Head.” Also got to meet Harada of Tekken, Alex Ahad of SkullGirls, and hang out for a few minutes with the lovely chaps from MEGA64.

Those guys were all awesome but my favorite encounter was meeting HIDEO KOJIMA OF METAL GEAR . I’m so awkward I think I shook his hand at least 4 different times haha. He actually approached me first because I was in my Mei Ling cosplay. He took a photo of me and posted it on his twitter (I WAS SO STARSTRUCK) and signed my MGS3 poster I had just bought. Never thought I would get star-struck over anyone but lo and behold… it happened lol.

That's it!! Here's us DGAFing with MEGA64 and bullying ALEX AHAD.

It was wicked awesome meeting you all and we hope you guys got your geek on at San Diego Comic Con 2012...

we know we did. ;D
